For the last three years Tour Links has had a huge presence at the PGA Merchandising Show in Orlando Florida. Most of the worlds largest club manufacturers trusted Tour Links to showcase their 2008 line of putters.
It is such an honor for us to have the confidence of such great companies such as Ping and Callaway. The Tour Links base system and the Tour Links pre-packed greens have really become the featured putting greens at the show. In fact over 30 companies selected Tour Links as the putting greens system of choice at the 2008 show.
Keep an eye out for the PGA video to be posted soon under the View Installation section of the Custom Green area of our site.

Why TourLinks
In all industries there comes a time for change, a time for out dated methods and techniques to be replaced by that which is innovative and technologically superior. For the backyard putting green industry the time for that change is now! The product is TourLinks.
TourLinks is the first and only patented base system designed to revolutionize the construction of putting greens. From our standard pre-packaged models, available on line from some of the country’s top retailers, to custom installed greens that would make any top professional envious, TourLinks is the answer. Manufactured from recycled industrial polymers, the 2 foot by 2 foot self locking molded panels assemble easily to create a green that is stronger, more durable and less susceptible to environmental conditions then outdated rock and sand construction. More importantly, the TourLinks base creates the most realistic ball roll available in the industry today. After all, isn’t that what we golfers are looking for? A great green MUST start with a great base!
Historically, landscapers and pool builders whose methods consisted of moving rock and dirt from one side of the yard to another in an effort to create a pile of earth that resembled something in the way of a putting green, founded the backyard putting green industry. Drop a piece of polypropylene grass on top and there was your putting green.
This low-tech method of green construction has been at the forefront of industry practice for 20 years and despite all the problems associated with this methodology, it is sadly the accepted practice of many installers. The question we here at TourLinks ask is WHY?
In early 2000, David Barlow, president of Creative Sport Concepts wrote the first of six United Stated Patents that offers an intelligent, technically advanced solution to the construction of the base system on which synthetic turf can be installed. The need to haul tons of fill material to a customer’s home, disrupting both the existing landscape and lifestyle of the customer, is greatly reduced with TourLinks. No longer is the consumer limited in the choice of location of their green. What if the customer moves? With TourLinks you never lose your investment because the panels can be disassembled and reinstalled in the same configuration or a completely new design. On average, a certified TourLinks installer can create the same size green in one-third the time as an installer who still insists on using rock and gravel. If saving time were the only benefit, perhaps the story would stop here, but the fact is that a properly installed TourLinks green looks and performs as well as any green one would find in the finest country club. The benefits to the consumer and the industry as a whole are immense.
For years we have cringed over tales of compacted base greens collapsing under the weight of heavy rains, earth shifting during seismic activity that occurs in parts of the west coast and base damage due to the settling and heaving associated with extreme cold climates. These are some of the problematic issues associated with a rock base versus the TourLinks base system. The industry is full of stories of concrete and rock being pumped in to consumers’ basements or sheets of Styrofoam being carved in an effort to build an interior green. Estimates are that nearly 90% of all leads from those seeking a home putting green are left unfulfilled due to the expense and lack of accessibility to the desired area or the consideration that if the family moves, the investment will be lost. TourLinks knocks down all these sales barriers. In 2003 an article appeared in the Wall Street Journal entitled “It’s All About Plastic”. The backyard putting green industry was named as one of the entrepreneurial industries to watch in the future. However, the article went on to state that unless the technology associated with putting greens was improved, consumers were better educated and greens were made more affordable and readily available, the industry would never achieve its potential. This time has arrived with TourLinks.
Our mission statement is simple, to make professional putting at home a reality for all golfers. Indoors, outdoors, on rooftops or decks, with the TourLinks system of green construction any golfer who has dreamed of owning their own country club quality green can now simply pick up the phone and call 866-921-7888 or log on to www.tourlinks.net to learn just why TourLinks is “Changing the way golfers practice”.
